I made two cards using the Black Ice Technique that has become very popular in the last couple of months. I first saw this technique on a video done by a Melissa Kerman. If you go to Youtube and google Melissa's name you can see her actual video.
This is the card that I made using the new Lovely Floral Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (#148048). This embossing folder is one of the items that will be in the new Annual Catalog but is also available for early release from May1-31, 2018.
After running the a piece of Silver Foil Sheet (#132718) through the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#143263) and embossing it with the Lovely Floral Textured Impressions Embossing Folder I lightly ran a StazOn Jet Black Ink Pad (#101406) over the piece of foil. I waited a few minutes for this to dry. If you are in a hurry just heat the foil piece quickly with the Heat Tool (129053). Next I lightly ran a VersaMark Ink Pad over the piece of foil and covered it with Stampin' Emboss Powder in Clear (#109130). Again, I heat set this with the Heat Tool. Finally I used the new Detailed Trio Punch (#146320) and punched the four corners of the silver foil piece. This punch is a triple punch. Depending upon which opening you place your card stock in you get three different choices. The card is finished by mounting the Silver Foil piece on Basic Black Cardstock (#121045). I have chosen not to put a greeting on the card at this point because I like to keep a few cards that can be used for different purposes and stamp the greeting as needed.
The second black ice technique uses the same procedure except before you cover the foil with VersaMark and Clear Emboss Powder you color the image with Stampin' Blends. These are alcohol markers that dry very quickly and can be found on pages 204-205 of the new catalog.
